OurGen is a website with free resources to help graduates move more easily from uni into careers in finance, consulting, or STEM. They provide proven, straightforward guides from successful students giving advice on applying for jobs. As well as help with writing a CV, what employers are looking for, interview tips and more. They came to Craft for our help in writing their website, and gave us a copywriting job helping students get jobs.
Our clients were drawn to working with Craft thanks to our experience in the education sector, with organisations such as Manuvo, IE University, and DOMESTIKA. As well as our wide experience in writing website copy for a diverse range of brands including SEAT and the activewear brand Oceans Apart.
As with many start-ups, OurGen had written their own copy quite quickly. But they were aware they didn’t have the skills of a professional copywriting team. At the same time, it was our job to understand the brand’s personality and tone. That way were able to take the best of what they already had into the new website.
Our task was to write things in a way that got across OurGen’s very specific offering. It offers a specific set of resources to a specific student audience. The key was to address the reader on their level, while remaining professional and staying away from all the usual student clichés.
OurGen were really happy with their shiny new site copy. They were particularly pleased that after steeping ourselves in their story, we were able to write the website quickly. With almost zero back and forth. We really enjoyed being involved with such an energetic and worthwhile brand and are proud of our work on the site.
