Barrabés is an innovation company who create flexible digital solutions for businesses. They started talking to Craft when they were launching Nexplore – a tool that encourages the collaborative development of projects in the construction industry, from idea all the way through to global application. When it came to telling the world about Nexplore, Barrabés understood that groundbreaking ideas need sharper copy

Thankfully, Craft had gained a reputation for developing UX copy and for being undaunted by complex technical challenges. For example, Barrabés were reassured by our work for Sngular, where we turned tech talk into clear, impactful copy. As well as our experience with Telefonica Wholesale, when our task was to communicate technical information in a human way.

Constructing an engaging intranet

Craft’s brief was to sharpen the copy in the Nexplore innovation platform. This was an internal intranet platform built to run the global Nexplore programme. Employees were encouraged to share their exciting and innovative ideas. Exploring ways to harness the power of digital transformation to solve challenges in the construction, concessions, services and infrastructure sectors. The platform would then collect, manage and scale their ideas. 

Clear and easy

Our experts in UX writing focused on making sure all the copy in the Nexplore platform was clear and simple. Everything we wrote helped to contribute to an easy and engaging user journey. At the same time, we also had to bear in mind that the programme’s audience was international. Their first language may not have been English, so we had to avoid subtle nuances or idiosyncratic turns of phrase.

 

Building on a huge scale

One of Craft’s other strengths is our attention to detail. After all, there were a LOT of screens to process as part of this project, so quality control was a major consideration. We’re also very adept at understanding potentially dry, technical subjects and then communicating them clearly and consistently. To ensure consistency, one of the tools we created was a glossary of the various technical terms in use.

Sharper success

The result of all this detailed work was an intranet platform judged to be a huge success. Our work in sharpening the copy to make it as engaging as possible had the desired effect. The site gathered lots of great ideas, while contributors really felt they had been listened to and inspired by others.
